- Mustapha Tlili (1937 – 2017, Tunisia) – Gloire des sables (‘Glory of the sands’, 1987). An Algerian who has been living in the US, where he founded the Young Democrats, is killed among the terrorists involved in the 1979 seizure of the Mecca Mosque.
