- Muhammad al-Hādī Ibn Ṣāliḥ’s (1945 – 2019, Tunisia) Safar al-Nuqla wa al-Taṣawwur (‘The journey of transformation and perception’, 1988) and Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ al-Jābirī’s (1940 – 2009, Tunisia) Laylat al-Sanawāt al-ʿAshr (‘The night of ten years’, 1982), both deal with the political crackdown of 20 January 1978 in Tunis. The later novel takes the reader until the dawn of the bloody events while it explores the wiles of the bosses, the ambiguous nature of union action and the relationships between work and family life (reference).
