- al-Ṭayyib al-Ṣiddīqī’s (1939 – 2016, Morocco) play Diwān Sidī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Majdhūb (‘The collection of master Abdelrahman al-Majdub’, 1965) was based on the poems of 16th century Moroccan poet and Sufi mysticus ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Majdhūb (1506 – 1568) and is an acting out of popular Moroccan folklore. The play, when previously preformed in a modern theatre building, deployed the ḥalqa tradition of preforming (reference).
